The project

The overall objective of the project is to create a China-EU Institute for Clean and Renewable Energy (ICARE), to become a centre of excellence on energy efficiency and renewable energy in China. In the specific objectives are included the scientific cooperation between EU and Chinese researchers, the production of qualified candidates to fill the gap between the growing industry demand for specialised  energy experts and to provide professional training for women, members of minority groups and persons with limited economic means.

During the implementing period from July 2010 to May 2015, in the main activities of the project are included the creation of a two-year Master Programme mainly for Chinese students who have obtained degree in engineering or another relevant scientific discipline, the establishment of a platform for scientific cooperation in the clean and renewable energy and the creation of vocational training programmes for existing energy professionals. The main estimated results of the project include the increased cooperation between EU and China universities in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency as well as the creation of a research support platform.
